What Is Acupressure Therapy?

The body carries intelligence. Acupressure works with it.

Acupressure therapy is a hands-on healing practice rooted in the traditions of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shiatsu, working with the body's own energy pathways, or meridians, to support physical, emotional and energetic wellbeing.

Unlike approaches that override or manage the body's signals, acupressure works with the intelligence already present, listening to what the body is holding, where tension has accumulated, where energy is blocked or depleted, and gently supporting the conditions for the body to restore itself.

It is not simply about physical relief, though that is often part of what a session offers. It is about regulation. Reconnection. The experience of being held in a way that allows the nervous system to soften and the body to begin its own process of rebalancing.

At The Line Between, acupressure therapy is woven through the full spectrum of support I offer, from pre-conception through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Because the body is doing profound work at every stage of this journey. And it deserves to be met with care that honours that work rather than simply manages it.

What acupressure therapy can support?

Acupressure therapy can be beneficial for a wide range of physical and emotional experiences, including chronic muscular tension and pain, stress, emotional overwhelm and anxiety, fatigue and burnout, digestive and hormonal imbalances, headaches and sleep difficulties, nervous system dysregulation, and the experience of feeling disconnected from your body.

Beyond treating specific symptoms, acupressure is also a practice of preventative care, of tending to your system before depletion sets in, of creating regular space for rest, release and recalibration.

What I offer

Each session at The Line Between is shaped entirely around you and what your body is asking for on that day. There is no fixed protocol. The session is a collaboration between your body's needs and my training, presence and intuition.

My practice draws on several modalities woven together with care.

Shiatsu is a practice grounded in Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses acupressure, gentle stretches and rhythmic touch along the body's meridian lines. It supports the free flow of Qi, vital energy, promoting balance across the body's systems and creating the conditions for deep rest and self-healing. It is gentle but profound, and particularly well suited to pregnancy, postpartum and times of significant physical or emotional transition.

Traditional Chinese Medicine principles inform the broader context of my sessions, the understanding of organ systems, seasonal cycles and energy patterns that allows me to hold not just your physical symptoms but the deeper connections between body, emotion and life experience.

Raynor Naturopathic Massage is a dynamic deep-tissue modality designed to release tension held at the physical, emotional and energetic level. It goes beyond the muscles to work with the emotional body, particularly suited to those carrying long-term stress, trauma or deeply held tension in their system.

Who acupressure therapy is for?

You do not need to be in pain or unwell to benefit from acupressure therapy. These sessions are for anyone who wants to slow down and come back to their body, to move through a life transition with more ease, to tend to their health holistically, to rest deeply, to feel at home in their own skin.

Acupressure therapy is safe and adaptable for people of all ages, bodies and life stages, including during pregnancy, postpartum, and for those with chronic conditions or heightened sensitivities. Every session is adjusted to meet you exactly where you are.
